The Day Outs That Fuel TEDxPanaji

Updated: May 2

At TEDxPanaji, we run on something incredibly powerful—passion. Every single person on our team, from seasoned professionals to enthusiastic students, is a volunteer. Nobody’s here for a paycheck. We’re here because we believe in ideas worth spreading, and more importantly, we believe in the magic that happens when a group of diverse, driven individuals come together to create something meaningful for their community.

But in a world where our team is spread across Goa—and even beyond, from Bangalore to Ahmedabad—most of our collaboration happens in the digital space. Meetings on screens, ideas in shared docs, and coordination through chats have become our daily rhythm. While efficient, it often lacks the warmth and spontaneity that only physical connection can bring.

That’s where our monthly team day out comes in—and it’s become one of the most important rituals we have.

These shoots are more than just content creation. They’re our way of building something real together. Every team member is invited to play a role—whether it’s planning, holding the iconic red X, operating the camera, or simply being part of the energy. It's a day where work meets joy, where strategy meets serendipity.

This time, we explored the heart of Panjim—its vibrant local market. From the spice seller who’s been in the same spot for four decades to the mango vendor who knows exactly when the Alphonsos are at their best, every corner buzzed with stories. We captured their essence, their flavor, and their voices—because TEDx isn’t just about speakers on a red circle; it’s about stories that matter, whether they’re on stage or on the streets.

From there, we moved to a local skate park—where the city’s youth showed us what movement, expression, and passion look like in their own language. And finally, as always, we wrapped the day with conversations at a local tavern—over laughter, reflections, and ideas for what comes next.

These day-outs aren’t just team bonding exercises. They’re where trust is built, new members are welcomed, and ideas are sparked in the most organic ways. They remind us why we’re doing this. That behind every email, every edit, every sleepless night before the big day—there’s a team that’s in it together.

Because when people give their time for free, they need more than just tasks—they need purpose, connection, and belonging.

And that’s what we’re building. One story, one meeting, one “X” at a time.
